SYRACUSE, NY (06/10/2009; 1455)(readMedia)– The New York State Division of Veterans’ Affairs has established its state veterans counseling office at the Syracuse VA Medical Center with two counselors to provide benefits counseling and advocacy for veterans and their families.
“We are grateful for the tremendous cooperation extended by the community and the Syracuse VA in providing space for the Division,” said Division of Veterans’ Affairs Director James D. McDonough. “This partnership demonstrates a shared commitment to helping veterans and their families by offering local access to the professional counseling services available through our agency.”
Information and assistance in filing for a variety of economic, medical and social benefits available to members of the veterans community will be provided by State Veterans Counselors Lloyd Collins (M,T,W) and Jamie O’Hora (Th, F) at the office in the Syracuse VA Medical Center.
The counseling office will be open 8:30p.m to 4:30 p.m., Monday thru Friday. For information about benefits or an appointment call (315) 425-4400 ext. 53871.
