Erie Canal Museum Executive Director, Diana Goodsight, announces the addition of Daniel Ward to the museum staff. Dan has accepted the position of Curator and will start at the museum on July 1, 2009.
Dan brings a wealth of experience to the position with a vast knowledge of the Erie Canal having grown up on it and volunteered at the museum as a docent for many years. Dan received his MA from The Cooperstown Graduate Program, the gold standard for museum studies and his Ph.D. in American Culture Studies from Bowling Green State University.
Dan was most recently the Program Director at the Cultural Resources Council (CRC) where he developed his expertise in grant writing, educational programming and arts advocacy. He will be a great addition to the team and we look forward to working with him.
The museum is open Monday thru Saturday from 10 am until 5 pm and Sunday from 10 am until 3 pm. Admission is free.
