Cushman Earns Highest Honors at Skidmore College
SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY (06/11/2009)(readMedia)– The following local student earned highest honors for the spring semester at Skidmore College:
Chelsie Cushman, Class of 2009. She is the daughter of Jack and Linda Cushman of Manlius.
Highest honors are awarded for a quality point ratio of 3.670 or more from a possible 4.0. Honors are awarded for a grade point ratio of 3.4 to 3.669.
Skidmore recognizes academic excellence in several ways. In addition to making the Dean’s list (for achieving highest honors or honors), a student may be elected to the Periclean Honor Society or to the Skidmore chapter of Phi Beta Kappa.
Founded in 1903, Skidmore College is a coeducational, liberal arts college that enrolls approximately 2,400 students. The college grants the bachelor of arts and the bachelor of science degree, as well as a master’s degree in liberal studies.

Hannah Named to SUNY Plattsburgh Dean’s List
PLATTSBURGH, NY (06/17/2009)(readMedia)– The following local resident was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2009 semester at the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh:
Christina Hannah of Manlius, N.Y.
To be eligible for the dean’s list, a student must achieve a minimum 3.5 semester grade point average with at least 12 credit hours. A part-time, matriculated student is also eligible for the dean’s list after accruing 12 credit hours consecutively and achieving a minimum 3.5 semester grade point average. These credits may be accumulated in more than one semester.
“We see these students as our academic all-stars,” said Dr. John Ettling, SUNY Plattsburgh president. “Their caliber is evident. Through their efforts and with the help of our dedicated faculty, they continue to make us proud, both in and out of the classroom.”
