Restaurant, Restroom and Fuel Services Will Remain Available
ALBANY, NY (12/01/2009)(readMedia)– The New York State Thruway Authority has announced that renovations began Dec. 1 at the Chittenango Travel Plaza operated by HMSHost. The Chittenango Travel Plaza is located on I-90 westbound between Interchanges 34 (Canastota) and 34A (Syracuse I-481), at milepost 266.
The renovation projects are scheduled to be completed in two phases, with Phase I scheduled to begin Dec. 1 and conclude in June 2010, and Phase II scheduled to begin in the Fall of 2010.
During Phase I of the project, Dunkin’ Donuts will close to be replaced by Starbucks. Within several weeks, a Starbucks coffee cart will be operational for customers from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. daily. The Starbucks concept will begin construction in mid-March 2010. During the renovation project Sbarro’s will open as the 24-hour food concept with various breakfast items being added to the menu. Additionally, a Travel Mart will be constructed to replace the existing gift shop. This phase of the project is scheduled to conclude in June 2010.
Phase II of the project is tentatively scheduled to begin in early September 2010. During this phase, Sbarro’s will close for remodeling. It is anticipated that Phase II work will conclude at the end of November 2010.
During Phase I of these renovation projects, fuel, restroom and limited food services will be available to motorists 24-hours a day at the Chittenango Travel Plaza.
