HAMILTON, NY (12/10/2009)(readMedia)– The following student from the Colgate University Class of 2012, have been inducted into the Colgate chapter of the national scholastic honorary society of Phi Eta Sigma, which recognizes the outstanding academic achievement of first-year students.
Michael J. Riccione, currently a sophomore at Colgate, is the son of Dr. Michael A. Riccione and Ms. Carolyn B. Sheaff of Manlius, NY. Riccione is a graduate of Fayetteville-Manlius High School.
The approximately 160 students who were honored at the fall banquet on November 11, 2009 had earned averages of at least 3.5 during their first year at Colgate.
Phi Eta Sigma was founded in 1923 at the University of Illinois. The Colgate chapter received its charter in 1982.
