Thruway Authority Announces Eastbound Rolling Road Block for Interchange 39-40 Reconstruction Project

Minor to Moderate Delays Could Occur Thursday, June 3

ALBANY, NY (06/02/2010)(readMedia)– The New York State Thruway Authority announced that the pavement reconstruction project taking place just west of Syracuse will necessitate a brief rolling road block for eastbound motorists traveling between Interchange 39 (Syracuse/Fulton/Route 690) and Interchange 40 (Weedsport), on Thursday, June 3, 2010, weather permitting.

Between the hours of 10 a.m. and noon on June 3, one rolling road block will take place in both eastbound lanes from milepost 299.0 to 289.0, while pavement is striped. The rolling road block should last less than 20 minutes and could cause minor to moderate delays.

Variable Message Signs (VMS) will be in place to alert motorists of the work and any delays associated with it.

As with any change in traffic pattern, motorists are encouraged to remain alert and aware of their surroundings while traveling through the area.

The Authority appreciates motorists’ patience during this necessary project.
