New Orthopedic Traumology Surgeon Joins Upstate Orthopedics

(Syracuse, NY) Dr. Emil Azer will be joining the Upstate Orthopedics team on September 1, 2010. Dr. Azer has recently completed a Trauma Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. (Surgical fellowships entail extra, intense training above general residencies and medical school in very specific areas of surgery. The surgeon is considered a specialist in that area after completion.)

Azer specializes in Orthopedic Trauma and Joint Replacement Surgery. His clinical interests include orthopedic trauma, pelvic and acetabular fractures as well as complex peri-articular fractures. Dr. Azer

Blair Named Assistant to Director at MAMI Interpreters

(Utica, Syracuse, NY) MAMI Interpreters recently hired Angela Blair of Utica as administrative and development assistant to the executive director.

She provides direct support for the director, the board of directors and staff in a culturally diverse environment, and develops administrative processes and procedures.

Blair has been a computer applications instructor at Utica School of Commerce and was previously an employment specialist and office manager with The Arc, Oneida-Lewis Chapter. Prior to that, she was a human resources assistant with the International Justice Mission in Washington, D.C., and a research assistant with the International Organization for Migration in Geneseo, NY.

Blair holds a master of science degree in management from Keuka College, and a BA in international relations from State University of New York at Geneseo. She grew up in
