Air Force Officer Named Commander Of Central New York Civil Air Patrol

(Rome, NY) Lt. Col. Kenneth O. Field, an Air Force intelligence officer who in 2009 transferred from active duty to the New York Air National Guard in Rome, has been named commandeer of the Civil Air Patrol’s Central New York Group. He succeeds Maj. Carl Anthony, CAP, of Brewerton, who was group commander for four years.

Lt. Colonel Field joined the group over a year ago with responsibility for overseeing pilot and aircrew proficiency and training. Several months later he moved into the position of deputy group commander. As commander, he works out of group headquarters at the New York Air National Guard Base at Hancock Field, Syracuse, and oversees six squadrons located in Utica, Rome, Syracuse, Fulton and Watertown.

Lt. Colonel Field, who resides with his wife, Nicole, and their four children in the Utica suburb of Deerfield, works at the Eastern Air Defense Sector (EADS) in Rome as Chief of Intelligence.
