(Town of Columbia, NY – Feb. 12, 2011) On February 12 at approximately 9:30 PM, the State Police in Herkimer investigated a fatal snowmobile accident near the Hugick Road in the Town of Columbia.
The snowmobile operator, identified as 22 year old Daniel Latt of Mohawk, was traveling north on trail C7C when he veered off the trail, struck a tree and was ejected from the sled.
Latt was traveling alone at the time and was found by other passing snowmobilers.
The investigation is still ongoing.
The State Police were assisted on the scene by the Cedarville and Richfield Springs Fire and EMS.
