Camillus man arrested for UPM on Thruway

(Syracuse, NY – Sept. 17, 2011) On Sept. 16, David M. Troch, 36, of 113 Heathwood Road, Camillus was arrested by the New York State Police – Syracuse for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana after he was stopped for disobeying a traffic control device when he entered a restricted area (the tandem lot at the Thompson Road, interchange – exit 35 of the Thruway).

Troch was released to appear in the Town of DeWitt court Sept. 21 at 6 p.m.

 

 

Nurses at Oswego Hospital ER Arrested for Stealing Controlled Substances

(Oswego, NY – Sept. 16, 2011) The New York State Police in Fulton, in conjunction with the New York State Department of Health – Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement, have arrested three Registered Nurses from the Oswego Hospital within the last month:

On Aug. 16, Shannon M. Salva, 42, of 108 Meays Drive, Syracuse, NY

On Aug. 26, Lori E. Weinheimer, 46, of 1379 County Route 7, Oswego, NY

On Sept. 9, Ryan C. Fleming, 25, of 4070 State Route 69, Mexico, NY

All three nurses were each charged with first-degree Falsifying Business Records (E Felony), and seventh-degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance (A Misdemeanor) along with additional charges relating to the Public Health Law.

The charges stem from an internal investigation that was initiated by Administrators at the Oswego Hospital.  While on duty within the Emergency Department, the suspects were stealing controlled substances from an automated dispensing system, Omnicell, located within the Emergency Department.  Controlled substances were removed from the Omnicell without a valid physician’s order/prescription.

The Oswego Hospital was able to track the several unauthorized transactions over a period of time and identify the subjects that were responsible.

All three were released on appearance tickets, returnable to the City of Oswego Court.  Their employment status at Oswego Hospital is unknown.

 

State Police Conducts Underage Drinking Detail in Onondaga County

(North Syracuse, NY – Sept. 15, 2011) State Police in North Syracuse conducted an Underage ID enforcement detail in the Towns of Salina, Cicero, and Clay including the Village of North Syracuse – Onondaga County.

As part of the initiative 19 Restaurant Tavern/Bars and 10 retail establishments serving or selling alcohol within this area were checked for their compliance with the laws of the State of New York relative to prohibiting sales of alcohol to persons under the age of twenty-one.

As a result of the operation, ALL of the locations were in compliance of the laws pertaining to the sale of alcohol to a person under the age of 21.  No arrests were made.

 

 

 

State Police arrest man as Fugitive from Justice

 

(Watertown, NY – Sept. 15, 2011) The State Police in Watertown arrested Zackary A. Hartman, 22, of 22444 Colonial Manor Dr., Watertown for being a Fugitive from Justice.

Police said Hartman is wanted for the Felony of Sexual Misconduct of a Minor Class B Felony by the Superior Court in the State of Indiana.

He was arraigned before town of Pamelia Justice Richard Baker and remanded to the Jefferson County Public Safety Building pending extradition proceedings to Indiana.

 

Rodman Man Arrested for Possessing Handgun on School Grounds

(Adams Center, NY – Sept, 15, 2011) On Aug. 23 at about 2:45 p.m. Robert R. Hutchinson, 83, of 21412 County Route 69, Rodman responded to the South Jefferson Central School District Office on Route 11, in the Town of Adams.

While Hutchinson was discussing Health Insurance issues with a District Office employee, he displayed a .22 caliber derringer style pistol in the palm of his hand.

Hutchinson did not hold the weapon in a threatening manner, but does not have School authorization to possess a weapon on School grounds.  The incident was reported to the NYSP in Adams when Hutchinson left school grounds.

Several Long guns and hand guns were removed from Hutchinson’s residence by state police members later that evening.  Hutchinson possessed the handguns legally with a valid NYS pistol permit, which will be reviewed administratively by the Jefferson County Court.

Hutchinson was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon upon School grounds.  He was processed at the Adams Satellite Office, issued an appearance ticket returnable in the Town of Adams Court and released.

An Order of Protection was also requested from the court on behalf of the District Office employee.

 

Oswego County Man Arrested for Child Pornography

(Fulton, NY – Sept. 14, 2011) On Sept. 14, the New York State Police in Fulton with the assistance of the U.S. Marshall’s Service and the NYSP Computer Crime Unit Central executed a search warrant at a town of Oswego residence which led to the arrest of 48 year-old William J. Knopp.

Knopp was charged with three counts of Possessing a Sexual Performance of a Child and one count of Promoting a Sexual Performance of a Child.

Investigation revealed Knopp possessed several images and videos of children, under the age of 16, involved in assorted sex acts.

Knopp was arraigned in front of Hon. Town Justice James Aluzzi, town of Volney Court, and released.  He is scheduled to reappear on Sept. 26 at 7 p.m.

The investigation is continuing.

(Onondaga County, NY – Sept. 2011) On Sept. 2 these suspects entered the Walmart store; located at 3949 Route 31 stole two flat screen televisions. The suspect wearing the orange colored shirt is described to be a white male who is believed to be between 6’ and 6’ 3” tall and weighs between 150 – 170 pounds.

The second suspect seen wearing a t-shirt with the logo “LRG” is described to be a white male with brown hair and beard. He is believed to be between 5’8” and 6’ tall and weighs approximately 240 pounds.

Stone Receives Highest Rating from CNY Women’s Bar Association

(Syracuse, NY – Sept. 13, 2011) John G. Stone. Esq. received the highest possible rating, “qualified and commended,” given by the Central New York Women’s Bar Association in relation to his candidacy for New York State Supreme Court Justice.

Stone recently was endorsed by the Onondaga County Republican Judicial Delegates for the competitive Fifth Judicial District Supreme Court Justice race.

Stone will be the Onondaga County Republican candidate at the Fifth Judicial District nominating convention on Tuesday, Sept. 20.

Stone has been the Principal Law Clerk to New York State Supreme Court Justice James P. Murphy for 7 years. Prior to that appointment, Stone spent 17 years as a litigation attorney in private practice and as a senior assistant corporation counsel for the City of Syracuse.

He resides in Manlius with his wife, Dr. Barbara Krenzer, and their three children, Elizabeth, John and Matthew.

 

 

Volney Traffic Stop Results in Felony Drug Arrest

(Volney, NY – Sept. 12, 2011) On Sunday Sept. 11 at approximately 2:13 p.m., Troopers from NYSP Fulton, observed a speeding gray Toyota Versa Traveling south on State Route 481 in the Town of Volney. The vehicle was occupied by two males.

The driver was identified as Keith A. Raymond, 26, of 60 East 5th Street in Oswego.

Investigation at the scene revealed a plastic bag containing hallucinogenic mushrooms secreted under the passenger side dash.

Raymond was arrested and charged with third-degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, a Class B felony. The passenger was not charged.

Raymond was arraigned in the Volney Town Court and remanded to the Oswego County Jail.

 

State Police Investigate Fatal Accident in Skaneateles

 

(Elbridge, NY – Sept. 9, 2011)  State Police in Elbridge are investigating a fatal pedestrian accident that occurred at 6:31am Sept. 9 on State Route 38A in the Town of Skaneateles, Onondaga County.

The investigation revealed the pedestrian, Timothy D. Mitchell, 39, from Owasco, NY was walking northbound on the shoulder of State Route 38A when he inexplicably darted into the path of a 2003 Kenworth tractor-trailer. Mitchell was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The investigation also revealed that a short time before this incident, Mitchell was walking northbound on St. Rt. 38A in the Town of Niles, Cayuga County when he darted into the path of a passenger vehicle.  He was grazed by that vehicle and refused assistance and continued walking northbound for approximately half-mile before being struck by the tractor trailer.

The investigation is continuing; the driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.
