Baldwinsville Man Charged with Rape

(Lafayette, NY - April 4, 2011) On April 1 the State Police in Lafayette charged 68 year-old Robert J. Hogan of 12 Legacy Drive Apt.  712 in Baldwinsville with Rape in the first degree, Sexual Abuse in the first degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child following incidents in which he was alleged to have had intercourse and sexual contact with a minor on different occasions in the Town of Elbridge.

Hogan was arraigned in the Town of Elbridge Court and remanded to the Onondaga County Justice Center in lieu of $100,000 cash/bond.

Carpenter’s Brook Fish Hatchery to host Honeywell Fall Sportsmen’s Days

(Elbridge, NY) Created as a tribute to National Hunting and Fishing Day, Fall Sportsmen’s Days, sponsored by Honeywell, will take place on Saturday and Sunday, September 25 and 26 from 11am-5pm. The annual event, held at Carpenter’s Brook Fish Hatchery in Elbridge, is a terrific opportunity for all ages to try their hand at a variety of outdoor pursuits, including skeet shooting, trout fishing, waterfowl identification, axe/knife throwing, turkey calling, archery, BB gun, fly fishing, jig tying, canoeing and muzzle loading. Conservation Officers, woodsmen, local wildlife artists and authors will be on hand for demonstrations and information.

The event, organized by the Onondaga County Federation of Sportsmen, will be family focused giving everyone a chance to experience outdoor sports. Activities are specially designed to give even children a chance to try these sports — perhaps for the first time. Sportsmen’s Days at Carpenters Brook is one of the largest celebrations of National Hunting and Fishing Day in New York State with family attendance expected at well over 6,000.

Admission is just $5.00 per family (car) and covers all hands-on activities.

(Elbridge, NY) Onondaga County Executive Joanne M. Mahoney and Parks Commissioner Bill Lansley were on hand when Mark Hettler, President of the Friends of Carpenter’s Brook Fish Hatchery, officially accepted a donation of $11,006.73 today from Bass Pro Shops Operations Manager, Rob Barber.

“We started with a petition and after seeing the amount of interest from Central New Yorkers, we came up with a way to help even further,” said Barber.
