(Felts Mills, NY – July 9, 2011) State Police in Watertown would like to recognize the heroic actions of Kevin S. Woodard of Evans Mills.
On July 9 at approximately 11:30am, Kevin was talking on his cell phone, preparing to return his cans to the redemption center on Route 3 in Felts Mills. While looking out his truck window he was able to see into a nearby yard and observed a small child enter the area, bend to pick something up and fall into a pool. Not seeing anyone else in the yard, Kevin ran, jumped the fence, entered the pool and retrieved the 15 month old little girl, unharmed.
The actions of Mr. Woodard undoubtedly prevented a tragic ending to this incident.
