(Carthage, NY) On April 6, 2011 the New York State Police in Carthage arrested Michael A. Cox, age 22, of Bridge Street, West Carthage for two counts of third-degree Rape, class E felonies, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a class A misdemeanors.
On Sept. 14, 2010, the State Police in Carthage began an investigation regarding an allegation involving Cox having sexually contact with a child under the age of 17. The investigation revealed that sometime in the months of July and August 2010 Cox engaged in sexually intercourse with the victim in the Great Bend area.
On April 6, 2011, Cox was arrested and arraigned before Town of Wilna Judge Richard Buckinghamand remanded to the Jefferson County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash/bond.
Cox is scheduled to re-appear before the Town of Wilna Court on April 11 at 6 p.m.
