State Police in Fulton locate Hannibal Robbery suspect

(Hannibal, NY – Sept. 3, 2011) State Police in Fulton arrested Robert D. Gioia, 22, charging him with third-degree Robbery (Class D Felony), and second-degree Burglary (Class C Felony).

On Sept. 2 at approximately 4:08 p.m. Fulton Troopers were dispatched to a robbery in progress at 393 Rathburn Road, Lot 23, in the Town of Hannibal.

The investigation determined that Gioia entered the residence at Lot 23, and stole a purse along with a hand bag from within.  The victim reported $500 cash, several packs of cigarettes, and credit cards as items that were within the stolen purse and handbag.

During the incident, a struggle ensued between Gioia and the female victim/resident, where she was allegedly shoved onto a couch by Gioia during the theft.  Gioia fled the scene on foot in the woods.

Gioia was located Sept. 3 after being spotted by Trooper Alex Kurilovitch within a vehicle that was traveling on State Route 3 in the Town of Granby.

Gioia was taken into custody and additionally charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana after a small quantity of marijuana was located in his pocket.

Gioia was arraigned in the Town of Hannibal Court and remanded to the Oswego County Jail on $5,000 cash/$10,000 bond.

Battle of Bands Gone Wrong Leads to Arrest

(Granby, NY - July 23, 2011) The New York State Police at Fulton arrested Chano Sanchez, 28, of Route 41A Moravia for third-degree Assault following an incident at Floody’s Bar, Route 48 in the Town of Granby.

According to witnesses an altercation began between two male members of separate bands playing at the establishment.  The investigation determined that Sanchez punched a male victim in the face causing a broken tooth and nose laceration.

He was arraigned in the Town of Hannibal Court and committed to Oswego Jail on $200 bail to return August 1 in the Town of Granby Court.

She was issued an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Oswego Court at a later date.  Businesses are encouraged to be vigilant in their efforts to avoid the sale of alcoholic beverages to persons under the age of 21.

 

 

Two Arrested for Hannibal Burglary

(Hannibal, NY – Feb. 2011) The lengthy investigation into a Hannibal burglary that began in August last year ended with the arrest of two area men.

On August 22, 2010 Troopers from NYSP Fulton responded to 48 Woodruff road in Hannibal to investigate a burglary of the closed business Ormsby Ironworks.

On February 24, 2011 Michael E. Shoults Jr., 29, of 1835 County Route 8 in Granby was arrested.

On February 28, 2011 Marcus J. Simmons, 26, of 275 Mill Street Hannibal, NY was also arrested.

Both subjects were charged with Burglary in the 3rd degree, a class D felony.

Shoults and Simmons were arraigned and committed to the Oswego County Jail.

Traffic Stop for Equipment Violation Ends with Arrest for DWI

(Fulton, NY – Feb. 20, 2011) Today, Troopers from NYSP Fulton observed a 1998 Chevrolet being operated on County Route 3 in the Town of Granby with an equipment violation.

Investigation after the traffic stopped revealed the operator, Scott R. Suppes, 42, 777 County Route 3, Fulton was operating the vehicle in an intoxicated condition.

Suppes was arrested and charged with DWI. He was arraigned in the Town of Hannibal Court and remanded to the Oswego County Jail.

Fulton Man Arrested for Texting Threats

(Fulton, NY – Feb. 20, 2011) On Feb. 17 Troopers from NYSP Fulton received an aggravated harassment complaint in Hannibal.  Interview with the complainant revealed that she had received numerous threatening text messages from a Fulton man.

Troopers arrested Ryan F. Kinzie, 19, of 207 Phillips Street, Fulton.

Kinzie was arraigned in the Town of Granby Court and released to re-appear on Feb. 28.

Driver Arrested for DWI after Being Stopped for Speeding

(Granby, NY – Feb. 16, 2011) On Feb. 15 at approximately 2:50 am, Troopers from NYSP Fulton observed a 2011 Dodge pickup speeding on Route 85 in the Town of Granby.

Investigation after the traffic stop revealed that the driver, Dustin R. Pulsifer, 22, of 658 Peat Bed Road, Hannibal was operating in an intoxicated condition.

Pulsifer was arrested for DWI and issued an appearance ticket due in Granby Town Court on March 21.

Man Arrested for DWI and Warrants After Traffic Stop

(Granby, NY) On January 23, 2011 at approximately 9:50 p.m. Troopers from Fulton observed a 1993 Ford F-150 traveling east on County Route 85 in the Town of Granby with only one operating headlight.

Investigation after a traffic stop revealed that the operator, David J. Brown, 34 of 1237 County Route 85 lot 20 in Hannibal, NY was operating while intoxicated. Further investigation revealed that there were two active bench warrants for Brown.

Brown was issued appearance tickets for DWI and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 3rd degree and was due in Granby Town Court on Jan. 31.

Brown was turned over to Cayuga County Sheriff’s Department to answer a warrant for Aggravated Harassment.
