HCCC Students Honored at Scholarship Reception

Fifty Herkimer County Community College students from
Herkimer County were honored at a scholarship reception held recently at the College. Students were recognized for earning the Foundation Tuition Scholarship, the HCCC Hope Scholarship, and the new HCCC Commitment Scholarship.

(Herkimer, NY- Oct. 2010) Fifty Herkimer County Community College students from Herkimer County were honored at a scholarship reception held at the College on Tuesday, October 26. Twenty-five students were recognized for earning the Foundation Tuition Scholarship, 23 for receiving the HCCC Hope Scholarship, and two for earning the new HCCC Commitment Scholarship.

(Cazenovia) Lindsay Denhoff of Poland, recently prepared and presented a research poster, “Fish Communities of Stoney Pond, Carpenter’s Pond and Cazenovia Lake in Madison County,” at the 20th Annual Great Lakes Research Consortium Conference in Syracuse.

Denhoff, a junior in Cazenovia College’s Environmental Studies Program, collaborated with Thad Yorks, associate professor of environmental science, and John Livermore, assistant professor of mathematics at Cazenovia College, to analyze the available data and produce her poster.
