Watertown Woman Arrested for Endangering Welfare of Child, Reckless Endangerment

(Watertown, NY - Sept 20, 2011) State Police in Watertown arrested 25-year-old Nicole L. Cummings of 619 Bronson St. in the City of Watertown for one count of second-degree Reckless Endangerment and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

Cummings charged subsequent to joint investigation conducted by NYSP and Jefferson County Child Protective Services that found that she was actively breast feeding her infant child over a period of time in May and June of this year and during this period was actively using cocaine endangering the child.

She was issued appearance tickets returnable in the Town of Rutland Court Sept. 27.

Black River Youth Arrested for Burglary

(Carthage, NY – Feb. 2011) The State Police in Carthage arrested Jacob Nickles, 17 year-old, 29619 State Route 3, Black River, Town of Rutland, on one count of third-degree Burglary, a Class D Felony and one count of Making a false written statement a Class A Misdemeanor.

On Aug. 23, 2010, Nickles did break into Nu-Bren Way Store and stole tobacco products valued at $2,900.

Nickles was arraigned in the Town of Wilna Court, before town Justice Honorable Richard Buckingham and released on bail pending Grand Jury.

(Watertown, NY – Sept. 20, 2010) At approximately 2:30PM, Charles B Ball, and his vehicle, the subject of the missing person report since Sept. 15, 2010, was found.

Mr Ball was found by family members, who participated in the search, in a remote location off the Maltby Road, in the town of Rutland.

Ball was pronounced dead at the scene by Dr. Samuel Livingstone, the Jefferson County Medical Examiner. He was removed to the Jefferson County Medical Examiner’s Office, pending post mortem examination. There is no evidence of foul play.

State Police, Watertown, and the Ball family, appreciate the efforts of all those that participated in the search for Mr. Ball, a search that extended through Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence Counties.

Police Seek Help Locating Missing Person

(Watertown, NY – Sept. 15, 2010) On Sept. 15  at approximately 10 p.m., State Police in Watertown responded to 23876 Patterson Road. At that time, it was reported that Charles B. Ball, 71, had not returned to his residence, contrary to his normal routine.

Also noted missing was Ball’s 2002 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck, color red, standard cab, step side box, with a hard tonneau cover. The plate number on the vehicle is NY Registration CBBALL (Vanity Plate).

Ball was last seen on Sept. 15, 2010, between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m. at a house under construction on Pleasant Lake, Town of Champion where he met with a family friend / home contractor. Ball left that location, and was expected to go to his home under construction on the Maltby Road, Town of Rutland.

There is nothing to suggest Ball arrived at that location, and no one has had direct contact with him since.

Anyone having any information relative to the whereabouts of Ball, or his vehicle are requested to contact the State Police, Watertown, at 315-782-2112.
