Police Investigate Armed Robbery in Herkimer County

(Town of Schuyler, NY – Sept. 5, 2011) State Police in Herkimer are investigating an Armed Robbery that occurred just after 1pm Sept. 5 at the “Dari Del” store located at 2285 State Route 5 in the Town of Schuyler.

Witnesses reported a male entered the store and displayed a handgun and demanded money from the register.

City of Utica Police patrols spotted a vehicle at the intersection of Albany and Pond roads in the City of Utica that matched the description of a vehicle seen leaving the scene of the robbery. Upon stopping the vehicle, the following two suspects were taken into custody and turned over to the Herkimer State Police for further investigation.

Charged with first-degree Robbery, a class “B” felony were: Joel C. Young, 24, from State Route 205 Building 3593 Apt. 3 Hartwick and Christina Sorrentino, 22, from the same address.

Both subjects were arraigned in the Town of Herkimer Court and remanded to the Herkimer County Jail on $100,000 cash / $200,000 bail bond.

(Schuyler, NY – March 14, 2011) On March 12, Shawn J. Kiley, 25, of 505 E. German St., Herkimer and Christopher C. Humphrey, 22, of 318 Dewey Ave., Herkimer were arrested by the New York State Police – Schuyler for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana after their vehicle was stopped for an equipment violation in the Village of Herkimer.

Both subjects were released to appear in the Village of Herkimer court on April 6 at 4 p.m.

Herkimer man arrested for UPM on the Thruway

(Schuyler, NY – March 14, 2011) On March 11, Wayne A. Patterson, 21, of 449 Prospect St., Herkimer was arrested by the New York State Police – Schuyler for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana after his vehicle was stopped for an equipment violation on the Thruway.

Patterson was released to appear in the Town of Herkimer court on April 5 at 4:30 p.m.

Fifty Herkimer County Community College students from
Herkimer County were honored at a scholarship reception held recently at the College. Students were recognized for earning the Foundation Tuition Scholarship, the HCCC Hope Scholarship, and the new HCCC Commitment Scholarship.

(Herkimer, NY- Oct. 2010) Fifty Herkimer County Community College students from Herkimer County were honored at a scholarship reception held at the College on Tuesday, October 26. Twenty-five students were recognized for earning the Foundation Tuition Scholarship, 23 for receiving the HCCC Hope Scholarship, and two for earning the new HCCC Commitment Scholarship.
